Apart from that, there are many other steps such as management of individual career aspirations, facilitation of work-life balance, creation of working environment while improving performance, and formulating rewards and recognitions while enhancing engagement and motivation. They are documents used daily, weekly or occasionally depending on when they are needed. Their organization is significant as it saves on time by making their access and retrieval much easier. Having information sources well stored according to their categories enhances their quality and usability when they are required. A collection of paper documents is an important part of most organizational formations, with categories such as the newspapers being daily distributed in public offices, internal and external memos sent within organizations, official and informal letters disseminated for communication purposes. However, it is important to note that, a paper documents collection is a form of knowledge organization system, which falls under the type of Classifications and Categories. It is a scheme type which provides a pattern of restricted rules to represent the phenomena in one big collection. A paper documents collection is therefore, an umbrella hosting a variety of paper items with different purposes and uses, but with same characteristics. They can be filled, manually stored and are they are all inform of hard copies. The Map Out of Paper Document Collection The table above outlines a paper documents collection organization scheme. And from the table, an item such as letter is divided into formal and informal categories, and memos are subdivided into external and internal memos. A paper documents collection is a useful asset when it comes to information management. Since information never expires, it is important to have it for future reference. In addition, different organizational situations require past information for references, and in this case, a careful storage of the documents is mandatory for future reference The organization of these documents is usually in form of files, stored according to the same characteristics. That is, paper documents such as letters are stored in one file, and same applies to memos, newspapers magazines and many more. My paper documents collection offers a wide range of usage, from being important source of knowledge to a good source of reference. The collection is characterized by a wide range of information items under it. It is an umbrella housing different information sources serving different functions. The scope of these documents under the collection ranges from stored and sent copies of formal letters, copies of received and sent internal memos, different copies of daily and weekly newspapers, copies of different monthly and yearly magazines and finally two sets of pamphlets; one for academic use and the other one for general information usage. However, my paper documents collection does not include confidential organizational paper records as they are only restricted to the specific individuals, and copies of my academic certificates and curriculum vitae, as they are kept differently in a special place because of their personal significance. The organization of the items in my personal collection follows a certain criteria based on the type of the item, significance of the items, the date and appropriateness. For instance, all past formal letter received are kept in a single file named, received, while all the copies of the sent letters are kept in another different document file named received. All the daily newspapers are kept in a Dailies newspaper document file while the Weekly newspapers are kept in a Weeklys file document. All the monthly and the yearly magazines are kept in Monthly and Yearly document files respectively and the finally the pamphlets are categorized into two, namely, General and Academic files. The categories in this case are exhaustive and effective; they are not too many but rather enough to cater for all the items. However, memos can still perfectly fit in the same category as letters but for clarity purposes, they have received and Sent files in which they are stored. In the organization of these items into different categories, different factors influenced my outcomes. Traditionally, it is known orderliness is key to success. In addition, common sense states that, classification of items into one group according to their characteristics makes identification process much easier. The organization was also influenced partly by the fact that historical evidence shows that, in classification, it is much acceptable to group items or phenomena according to their extremely similar characteristics into one. The only security concerns that can cause the breakdowns in this information organization are the theft and removal of certain important documents to conceal information. Technology has always played a better role in transforming and strengthening organization systems, and having technological adoptions that strengthens the system is required more for the progress of the organization system. The described organization system can be termed as a unique blend of invention and the existing methods of organization methods. The system does not follow any particular established information organization system; rather, there is combination of new techniques and the use of some of the established methods to form a stronger blend of organization system. It is deemed as a good move in trying to create a credible information organization system. The elaborated organization system is relatively new, and has not been in use somewhere else, but it is a promising method organization system that puts a lot of emphasis on security and easy access of the information on top of effective categorizing and classifying of the items. I took this class because I felt it was going to be very interesting and because I am a very open minded person. I try not to judge and I try to be open to other peopleââ¬â¢s differences even if they are very different from me. In terms of sexuality someone who has a different sexual orientation than mine I donââ¬â¢t mind. I embrace peopleââ¬â¢s differences. One subject that we talked about that has really stuck in my mind was the chapter on sexually transmitted diseases. I guess I never really thought about the diseases that you can get by giving oral sex. There are so many young girls these days who donââ¬â¢t think of oral sex as sex. They donââ¬â¢t realize that you can get really serious diseases by doing this. Itââ¬â¢s scary because some of these diseases are deadly and they are so young and so inexperienced to truly understand the importance of safe sex. I wish that there were more that we could do to educate them about safe sex earlier. At the beginning of class we discussed the two legacies. The gender role legacy has also stuck in my mind. Itââ¬â¢s really sad to know that views towards women havenââ¬â¢t necessarily changed. We are still fighting for our rights to be equal. We are still trying to prove that we are capable of being successful at together things besides cooking, cleaning and taking care of our kids. I know a lot has changed for women since the middle ages, but I hadnââ¬â¢t really realized that lot of men still view women the same way they did back in the 1940ââ¬â¢s and 1950ââ¬â¢s. I didnââ¬â¢t really think much about it until we talked about it in class. Effective Changes The things that I felt were effective in this class were of course the topic about safe sex and the effects of sexually transmitted diseases. I thing it is always effective when you educate people about safe sex and what can happen when you are not careful. I think it was very effective when we were showed the different contraceptives and how they work. The female condom is still a mystery to me, but I am glad I was able to see it. It makes it nice to know that we have ways of protecting ourselves as females. Itââ¬â¢s interesting that there are women out there who still believe that it is the manââ¬â¢s responsibility to use contraceptives. We as women need to realize that we have to protect ourselves. We have to take responsibility for our own bodies and I felt that Page helped us to realize this. Also, I believe our fetish presentations were very beneficial in a couple of ways. We talked about communication and sexuality and how it is difficult for people to talk about sex. A lot of people are embarrassed to talk about sex so it is hard for them to express what they are feeling and they donââ¬â¢t ask questions because of it. I know for me my fetish was very hard to talk about, but it really helped me open up and feel okay to talk about sex. It also educated us on different fetishes and how they develop. I learned a little about how to react to certain paraphilias also. I think this will be helpful in the future because if you are exposed to an exhibitionist you know how to react. You also will know what these things mean and entail so if someone was to ask you to partake in the act youââ¬â¢ll know if you want to join in or not. Even though there are some sexual behaviors that I wouldnââ¬â¢t necessarily engage in, this class helped to see why people feel the way they do. I also learned that it is important to know your body. Chapter 9 taught me that itââ¬â¢s normal to want to get to know your body. Talking about masturbation used to make me feel really uncomfortable. It doesnââ¬â¢t bother me for someone else to masturbate, but I would be very embarrassed to masturbate in front of my partner. I learned that this can help sex between you and your partner because you can relay to them what you like and where you like to be touched. It may also help to put a little more excitement in your sex life. I havenââ¬â¢t gotten brave enough to do this, but maybe I will work on it. (ha-ha) Another topic that we discussed that taught me a lot, and I am actually kind of embarrassed to even admit it, was the topic on female anatomy. I never realized how little I knew about my own body. I really enjoyed this chapter because I really got to see what is going on inside of me. I have had a child and until this class I really wasnââ¬â¢t positive what my cervix was. This seems so crazy since all of these things are in my body, but I never really knew what all was going on. In chapter six when we discussed sexual response I though it was really interesting learning about the changes our bodies go through on the inside when we get aroused and how our body responds. This class has made me feel like I really didnââ¬â¢t know much about sex before. When I though about sexual response the way maleââ¬â¢s respond is what always came to mind, but both males and females are going through changes during sexual arousing and intercourse. I really enjoyed this class. I canââ¬â¢t wait to take our field trip to Exotic Pleasures because this will be my first time. Through this class I was really exposed to a variety of topics. This class has taught me a lot about sexual communication, our anatomy, how our gender is formed, etc. I enjoyed hearing my classmateââ¬â¢s points of view on all of these topics. A group of individuals from Norway campaigned to declare freedom of ââ¬Å"time poverty.â⬠In the United States, americans struggle to do too much with too little time. On October 24th 2003, the alliance known as the U.S. Simplicity Forum, organized the ââ¬Å"Take Back Your Time Day.â⬠People would arrive late, take long lunches, and leave early from work. Thousands of people came together for the cause. This resistance focuses against politics to make a change in their lives. Social changes are made for the betterment of the people in the society. Cultural capital relates to these societal changes due to the fact that the knowledg e of a more relaxed state of life is presented for free towards people. The cultural capital of this situation help people to better see the good life and enjoy some of their life, not all work. I relate to this situation because between football and school I have very little free time. I let the weekend act as my days to take back my time. I also allows for me to stay in a cooperative society and live sociology. 2) For this experiment, I was unable to complete it, due to responsibility to stay in contact with both my athletic coaches and my academic supervisorââ¬â¢s. Fortunately, I did this experiment in high school. However, I donââ¬â¢t have the data logs with me anymore. During the blackout, I found it very difficult to not use technology. When I would usually have my phone to text people, I discovered how much time I actually spent on my phone rather than doing my homework. Speaking of homework, I found that it was easier to concentrate on each of the assignments and i was able to communicate better with friends. I actually rather enjoyed the experiment, because I never had to worry about returning texts or calls. It was relaxing to be able to enjoy life without the distractions of modern technology. For the blackout relating to functionalism, the blackout represents how we can connect to other groups of people who arenââ¬â¢t ever able to use the technology that we use day to day. According to conflict theory the blackout relates to going against the interests of most americans. Many people truly believe that they canââ¬â¢t live their life without technology. Symbolic interaction allows for people to be social face to face rather than being social through technology. Living through a social network isnââ¬â¢t the same as living live as a real person in society, not just a picture on the screen. The feminist theory relates to the blackout, because girls will no longer just focus on calling guys or dealing with the drama that gets spread around social networking sites, such as Facebook and twitter. This experiment teaches us that technology can sometimes be helpful by standing connected to people in society, but it can also hurt society by harming our social interaction.
